Our Paranormal Adventure at the Inaugural Pennhurst Paracon

In May 2023, we made the pilgrimage to Spring City, Pennsylvania, to attend the first-ever Pennhurst Paracon, hosted at the legendary—and notoriously haunted—Pennhurst Asylum. This inaugural event drew paranormal investigators, enthusiasts, and curious onlookers from all over the country to experience a weekend of history, mystery, and supernatural encounters.

The convention featured a dynamic mix of vendors, psychics, and special guests, including familiar faces from shows like Ghost Hunters and Project Fear. Attendees had access to explore the asylum’s eerie buildings, like the Mayflower and Devon, while VIP ticket holders were treated to exclusive access to areas such as the Quaker Building and sections of the underground tunnels—many of which had never been open to the public before.

In addition to ghostly tours and meet-and-greets, the event offered live sideshow acts courtesy of Be A Witness Now, unique oddities vendors, and plenty of chances to connect with fellow paranormal lovers. The energy was electric, the stories were chilling, and the setting—steeped in real, tragic history—added unmatched atmosphere to the entire weekend.

The 2023 Pennhurst Paracon set the stage for what we hope will become a beloved annual tradition. Whether you’re a seasoned ghost hunter or simply intrigued by the unknown, this event was a powerful reminder of why we’re drawn to the paranormal in the first place.
